Professor Xin Hongbo, Vice President of our school won the “Chinese Overseas Chinese (Innovative Talent) Contribution Award”

A few days ago, the 10th Overseas High-Tech Talents Service for the Country and the 3rd Xinqiao Innovation Achievements Exchange Conference hosted by the Chinese Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese was held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Wang Zhaoguo, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, cordially met with all the winners and delivered an important speech. Professor Xin Hongbo, Vice President of our school, won the “Chinese Overseas Chinese (Innovative Talents) Contribution Award” and became the first person to receive this honor.

Professor Xin Hongbo is currently a Distinguished Professor of Education Minister Jiang Scholar and has been appointed as a review expert for several projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and Technology. Professor Xin Hongbo has devoted himself to the study of pharmacology and pathophysiology for many years. His research work in the United States has been funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the American Diabetes Association (ADA). His thesis has been published in internationally renowned academic journals such as Nature, "Nucleic Acid Research", "American Academy of Sciences" and "Circular Research" were published. Since he was appointed as the vice president of Nanchang University in January 2009, Professor Xin Hongbo has actively promoted the development of the emerging research field of translational medicine in China based on the high-end platform of the Institute of Translational Medicine of Nanchang University.

It is reported that a total of 155 innovative talents in the overseas Chinese community have won the "Chinese Overseas Chinese (Innovative Talents) Contribution Award". The winners are high-level talents introduced by the "Thousand Talents Plan" and "Hundred Talents Program",most of which are research institutes. The backbone of colleges and universities, the director of key laboratories or the principal person in charge of the enterprise, undertakes a large number of national key scientific research projects, and its research fields cover dozens of disciplines such as biology, medicine, chemistry and physics.
